Living with the flood at Batasan Island

PHL, Tubigon, Reportage ueber das Leben der Fischerfamilien auf Batasan Island nah der Stadt Tubigon auf der Insel Bohol. Durch ein Erdbeben der Staerke 7,2 senkte sich die kleine Insel um einen Meter. Nun wird sie bei Springtide ueberflutet und die 800 Bewohner leben in Angst vor dem totalen Untergang. Wissenschaftler aus Tokio sehen die Inselbewohner als weltweite Vorbilder zur Anpassung der Lebensweise an den Klimawandel und den steigenden Meeresspiegel.

The 800 inhabitants are frightend of the final deluge. During spring tide the island is now totally flooded.
